New Wii Wheel Brings Motion Controls to Nintendos Racing Franchise

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Since the invention of the automobile, kids have pantomimed driving with pretend steering wheels. Since the dawn of the video game age, people of all ages playing racing games have twisted and turned their controllers to steer their vehicles, even though it had no effect on the action on the screen. Now, Mario Kart® Wii makes these fantasies a reality and brings a new level of immersion and interaction to video games.

The raucous driving game, which launched Sunday, comes packaged with the Wii Wheel steering wheel accessory that houses the Wii Remote controller and lets players steer just as though they were driving a real car. The accessory has been specifically designed and engineered so that even someone who has never played a video game before can pick up the Wii Wheel and start racing instantly.

A Fallout 3 Interview

IGN has an interview with Vice President of Public Relations Pete Hines regarding Fallout 3. Here’s the crucial question that most fans already know:

IGN: Fallout’s got a massive following and quite a vocal community. Have you at any point consulted the fan-base to see what they want from a Fallout game?

Pete Hines: Back when we first announced we were doing it in 2004, there was tons of feedback with people saying here’s what we want and here’s what we don’t want. We’re not really into consulting, in that we’ve got 75 people who spend all day every day working on this game, so we look for information and feedback for the kinds of things the fans are looking for, and feedback from the last game that we made. Even though it’s an Elder Scroll game, we’ve looked at the things they liked or didn’t like from that, and we have our own opinions about what we liked and didn’t like, and look at what things may be applicable to Fallout. Whether its how fast travel works, or for example how we’ve changed the way leveling works, so it’s very different from Oblivion.

I can already hear the hardcore crowd screaming for blood. They were not consulted? Oh, the drama!

Speaking to videogaming247, Peter Hines (Bethesda Marketing Boss) stated that the lead development format for Fallout 3 is in fact the Xbox 360.“The 360 is our lead development platform, so we got it working on that one first. I mean, we develop them all simultaneously, but one of them’s got to be the lead, so it was 360.”

I can hear the PS3 fanboys screaming bloody murder right about now. Or maybe not, considering the possibility that they played Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. That’s one title fans of the series would rather forget.

The glorious fount of arcane energy known as the Sunwell empowered the high elves for millennia, until the death knight Arthas laid siege to the elven kingdom and corrupted its sacred energies.
