Atlus has been working on a mysterious project called Catherine and it’s due for release in Japan next month. And no one knows a single freaking thing about this game. Just what the hell is it? Well, we’ll know soon. Because the game’s director Katsura Hashino has revealed that a demo of the game will be releasing soon on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

The preview for the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 showed that Bioware will include an interactive comic book called Mass Effect Genesis to summarize the events of the first game. Kotaku has the details on what it contains:

It doesn’t just summarize the original Xbox 360 and PC-only Mass Effect from 2007, it simulates the experience of playing it. The comic allows gamers to make six key decisions from the original game and see their ramifications in Mass Effect 2.

The brief digital comic starts shortly after the playable introduction to Mass Effect 2 on the PS3.

The subtitle is Drake’s Deception.

The next iteration of the series will see its hero, Nathan Drake, exploring the Arabian Peninsula and the Rub’al Khali Desert in search of a legendary lost city called Iram of the Pillars. The plot will draw upon the experiences of real-life historical figure, British Navy officer, and part-time pirate Sir Francis Drake, who is Nathan Drake’s ancestor in the Uncharted canon. The story is also inspired by the pre-military days of T.E. Lawrence, who was an archaeologist before he was Lawrence of Arabia.

God of War’s Kratos is going to be available as a playable character in Mortal Kombat 9 for the PS3. Unlike the other fighters, he won’t have single-player content, appearing only in VS mode.

There’s no word yet on who is going to be the exclusive character for the Xbox 360, if there’s going to be one.
