I’m taking a break from the usual WoW posts to take a look at Prototype. It’s like a cross between Devil May Cry and Grand Theft Auto, if both of them took place in a war-torn police state.

Infinite Undiscovery is the curiously-named, non-Final Fantasy RPG by Square Enix. To further deviate from the usual formula, the game is set to be released on the Xbox 360 instead of the PS3. A recent press release revealed that the game is set for a September launch.

Today, Ubisoft officially confirmed Prince of Persia for a holiday 2008 release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Details on the Ubisoft Montreal-developed game are light, but Ubisoft has said the game will be “a new chapter” in the franchise that tinkers with traditional action adventure gameplay. The publisher also said the game will introduce a new illustrative art style to the series. A separate version featuring “an entirely new storyline and new characters” is also in the works for the Nintendo DS.
