I’ve decided to turn this site into another WoW blog. Not that I have an existing one out there already, but considering how many of them exist, this is just another dot on the line. The reason behind the change is that WoW is the only game that I’ve been playing for the past year, and since posting on this site is a one-man job, I’d rather write about something that I’m really into. That doesn’t mean I won’t be talking about other games. I still will, but most of the content here will be WoW-centric.
Now that we have that out of the way, I’m looking forward to writing more enthusiastically this month. Think of it as a soft re-launch with a better focus.

Infinite Undiscovery is the curiously-named, non-Final Fantasy RPG by Square Enix. To further deviate from the usual formula, the game is set to be released on the Xbox 360 instead of the PS3. A recent press release revealed that the game is set for a September launch.
Square Enix sent out a surprise announcement today of the release date for Infinite Undiscovery in North America and Japan. RPG fanatics will be able to get their hands on the tri-Ace (makers of Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile) developed title on September 2, 2008.

Handango, a smartphone content provider, and famous games developer Capcom Interactive, a top developer today announced a partnership to distribute top gaming titles to North American smartphone users. Capcom’s top franchises include Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Are you Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, Street Fighter and Mega Man among many others.
I wonder how players will be able to input moves like the Dragon Punch and Flash Kick.

Metal Gear Solid IV will not be the last Metal Gear title, as revealed by associate producer Ryan Payton in a recent interview with MTV.
Fans can stop worrying, though; this isn’t the last “Metal Gear,” explained associate producer Ryan Payton in an interview with MTV Multiplayer. “I think there’s been some misconceptions that this is the last ‘Metal Gear,’” said Payton. “This is really just the last chapter of the saga of the Solid Snake story.”
I just hope Solid Snake is given a send-off worthy of remembrance.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - U.S. sales of video game hardware and software rose 47 percent from a year earlier, as Take-Two Interactive Software Inc’s "Grand Theft Auto 4" and Nintendo Co Ltd’s Wii console stole the show.
The popularity of "Grand Theft Auto 4," however, failed to boost sales of Microsoft Corp’s Xbox 360 and Sony Corp’s PlayStation 3, which both saw unit shipments fall sharply from the previous month.
While it’s quite a feat, it’s notable that it still isn’t the system seller that Sony is looking for. To be fair, it did nothing for Microsoft’s hardware figures either.

New Wii Wheel Brings Motion Controls to Nintendo’s Racing Franchise
REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Since the invention of the automobile, kids have pantomimed driving with pretend steering wheels. Since the dawn of the video game age, people of all ages playing racing games have twisted and turned their controllers to steer their vehicles, even though it had no effect on the action on the screen. Now, Mario Kart® Wii makes these fantasies a reality and brings a new level of immersion and interaction to video games.
The raucous driving game, which launched Sunday, comes packaged with the Wii Wheel™ steering wheel accessory that houses the Wii Remote™ controller and lets players steer just as though they were driving a real car. The accessory has been specifically designed and engineered so that even someone who has never played a video game before can pick up the Wii Wheel and start racing instantly.

IGN has an interview with Vice President of Public Relations Pete Hines regarding Fallout 3. Here’s the crucial question that most fans already know:
IGN: Fallout’s got a massive following and quite a vocal community. Have you at any point consulted the fan-base to see what they want from a Fallout game?
Pete Hines: Back when we first announced we were doing it in 2004, there was tons of feedback with people saying here’s what we want and here’s what we don’t want. We’re not really into consulting, in that we’ve got 75 people who spend all day every day working on this game, so we look for information and feedback for the kinds of things the fans are looking for, and feedback from the last game that we made. Even though it’s an Elder Scroll game, we’ve looked at the things they liked or didn’t like from that, and we have our own opinions about what we liked and didn’t like, and look at what things may be applicable to Fallout. Whether its how fast travel works, or for example how we’ve changed the way leveling works, so it’s very different from Oblivion.
I can already hear the hardcore crowd screaming for blood. They were not consulted? Oh, the drama!
